The National Lottery held its inaugural 2018 Good Causes Awards at Dublin’s Burlington Hotel in November, a star-studded black-tie event broadcast by Virgin Media Television and StoryLab was privileged to attend.
We’ve worked with the National Lottery for the last two years to define and shape focused content about good causes, identifying compelling and engaging subjects, and helping to bring them to life.
In conjunction with the National Lottery’s seasoned communications team and award-winning photographers, we have documented dozens of inspiring tales about the the recipients of Good Causes funding.
In bringing our experienced journalists’ eyes to the stories, we have helped the National Lottery to strengthen its Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) story and put inspiring words and human faces to the money it spends.
The stories formed the basis of this year’s first-ever awards ceremony which featured different groups from around the country.
A total of 36 finalists gathered for a special evening as they were honoured and celebrated for their hard work and achievements at a prestigious gala dinner.
Winners from seven categories took home a prize of €10,000 each with the overall Good Cause of the Year – the Children’s Grief Centre in Limerick – receiving an additional €25,000.
We look forward in 2019 to finding and telling even more compelling National Lottery Good Causes stories.
