Inspiring stories were the order of the day for a special magazine to mark this week's National Volunteering Week.
StoryLab worked with volunteer communities across Ireland to find great examples of volunteering that take place 365 days a year.
Reaching an audience of more than 500,000 people in the Irish Independent, the 24-page magazine published on Monday included a special foreword from President Michael D Higgins.
There was also a special focus on the real heroes of our society; the unpaid men and women who selflessly keep our events, charities and voluntary groups ticking over.
Without volunteers, the country would grind to a halt! From Meals on Wheels to the GAA, lifeboats to cycle races, Special Olympics to youth work, volunteering really is the lifeblood of thousands of Irish communities.
It was a privilege to shape such compelling content – a big thanks thanks to Volunteer Ireland and the organisers of European Volunteering Capital 2017 for help on this project.
StoryLab also developed and produced a successful new series for Independent News & Media called The Business Files – three supplements aimed at Leaving Certificate students of business, accounting and economics.
Packed with real-life career stories, advice from entrepreneurs and invaluable exam tips and tricks from teachers, the Business Files was an unmissable guide to the 2017 State exams which kick off next month.
