StoryLab has been busy in March and April producing trusted educational content for one of Ireland’s largest publishers - Independent News & Media, owned by Mediahaus.
In March, we worked with the Thomas Meagher Foundation and the History Teachers’ Association of Ireland (HTAI) on a special educational supplement about the Irish flag.
Published just before St. Patrick’s Day, the 24-page supplement contained classroom content and lesson plans from the HTAI and articles about the purpose of our national flag.
This week saw the publication of the Irish Independent’s flagship educational series ‘The Written Word’ – three supplements which focus on Leaving Certificate English and which contain tips and insights from teachers, journalists and well-known writers.
Teachers and students love the series for its highly accessible and, above all, readable content which sets out to bring a bit of learning fun to this most versatile of subjects.
StoryLab has edited the series for the last six years on behalf of INM. This year’s Written Word saw contributions from broadcaster and communicator Anton Savage, Ireland’s largest study website Studyclix.ie, as well as interviews and features by the best-selling writers Sarah Webb and Liz Nugent.
Part Three of the series concentrated on poetry and this year’s edition featured a special collaboration with Poetry Ireland.
