Huge media interest in sale of Donegal hotel.
People are at the heart of every story. And the two people that you associate with the iconic Harvey’s Point in Donegal are Deirdre McGlone and Marc Gysling.
The Gysling family founded the hotel 30 years ago and it has been a huge part of their lives ever since.
So, when the husband and wife team decided to step back from the hotel to spend more time with their young family, they asked StoryLab to help them tell their story.
They wanted their 150 staff and others to know that the decision was being made for lifestyle reasons only and that, while they loved every minute of their 30 years at Harvey’s, it was time for someone else to write the next chapter.
The same management team will stay in place so the hotel is remaining in safe hands and exciting expansion plans are underway for the multi-award winning hotel.
While the sale of a hotel is essentially a business story, it is a human one as well. It was a pleasure to work with Deirdre and Marc to help them tell the story their way – in text, images and videos.
The media agreed that it was a great story with more than 20 pieces of coverage from BBC News, RTE, the Irish Independent and the Irish Times to The Irish Sun, The Daily Star, Joe.ie, her.ie and many more.
