Orreco and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) last month announced an exciting new partnership which will see the LGFA promote Orreco's ground-breaking FitrWoman app to its 185,000 members.
There was an in-depth interview on Todayfm’s Dermot and Dave show, a feature from RTE, a video-led story on Independent.ie, slots in The 42, Newstalk’s Off The Ball and a starring role in the Irish Times Business section.
That was just some of the media coverage enjoyed by FitrWoman last month after a special day at Croke Park saw the launch of the unique partnership.
It’s been an incredible journey for Orreco’s FitrWoman app since the first version launched at the Boston Athletes Conference in May last year.
The app has been downloaded and used by world-class athletes across a range of sports globally and it has received global media coverage from organisations such as 24-hour news giant CNN, US business magazine Forbes, and Washington-based Sport Techie.
We have been proud to work with Orreco to tell the compelling stories around its ground-breaking app – now relaunched in its second version – which helps female athletes train and compete more effectively during the menstrual cycle.
The real-life experiences of the LGFA ambassadors was key to getting maximum media exposure for the new partnership – along with ready-made videos for media use and photography by acclaimed agency Sportsfile.
At Croke Park, several of the top female stars in Gaelic football shared their own experiences of how period pain has affected their training regimes and their ability to play in major matches.
All-Stars including Dublin’s Noelle Healy, Tipperary’s Sinead Delahunty, Wexford’s Bernie Breen, Sligo’s Noelle Gormley, Armagh’s Marian McGuinness and Galway’s Tracey Leonard praised the app for helping them plan ahead and manage their exercise regimes during the menstrual cycle.
Ahead of the announcement of the partnership, Orreco’s experts Grainne Conefrey, and PhD Research Scientist Georgie Bruinvels went on air in a live interview to explain how the app worked to Dermot and Dave on Todayfm.
The launch of the partnership was an unqualified success, generating 20 separate pieces of coverage and reaching an online readership of 50 million with coverage by all major national news outlets across the country.
