Global downloads and global coverage for Orreco’s FitrWoman app

GLOBAL media exposure helped push StoryLab client Orreco firmly into the spotlight in November, with the company’s work profiled by CNN.

In a November feature called ‘The menstruation app aiming to tackle sport’s ‘last taboo’, the 24-hour news giant, CNN, interviewed the Orreco team behind a new app called FitrWoman.

The Galway-HQ’d sports performance and data experts are regulars in news and tech feeds because of their pioneering work.

The CNN piece followed Orreco’s successful launch of the ground-breaking new app which helps female athletes to train and compete more effectively during the menstrual cycle.

Galway-based Orreco executive Grainne Conefrey, and her colleague, scientist Georgie Bruinvels, who together developed the app, met up with CNN’s Aimee Lewis in London.

The CNN feature was placed before a potential audience of 97.9 million people, with over 30,000 clicks and 1,000+ social shares. CNN also shared the profile with its 30m Twitter followers.

It’s been quite a journey for FitrWoman since its launch in May at the Boston Athletes Conference.

After a debut in the Apple App Store, in which it featured as App of the Week, the app has been steadily downloaded by women worldwide.

The Celtic FC women’s team featured in the CNN piece which explained the app and its use.

Excitement about FitrWoman has been building and as 2017 ends, Orreco has welcomed British middle and long distance Emelia Gorecka as an Ambassador.

FitrWoman has also been featured in 2017 by premier US business magazine Forbes, the Irish Independent and the Irish Times.
