Fuelling the media with Climate Change story

Telling the many compelling stories of how climate change affects Irish businesses is part of Sustainable Nation Ireland’s role.

The not-for-profit body is tasked by government with promoting Ireland as a hub for responsible investment, green finance and cleantech innovation.

StoryLab works with the agency to tell some of the stories of the people and companies that it collaborates with.

Significant national media coverage in November included an Irish Independent opinion piece on the COP23 climate change talks in Berlin, written by CEO Stephen Nolan.

The article was published in the Saturday edition of the country’s best-selling daily newspaper, ensuring that Sustainable Nation’s key messages reached a readership of over 400,000 people.

Nolan told readers of the unprecedented opportunities that the financing of climate-friendly projects can offer and the need to grasp the opportunities with both hands.

The body was also the focus of a major feature centred on Climatelaunchpad, the EU’s flagship cleantech business competition, published in the business pages of the paper.

Elsewhere, Tallaght company HubControls made headlines after being named among the GCCA’s Top 3 Cleantech companies, a prestigious global initiative supported in Ireland by Sustainable Nation. Coverage of the awards event in London included pieces in Silicon Republic, Irish Tech News and the Irish Independent.
