Telling our own story

Telling other people’s stories is the foundation of our business as a PR and content agency.

We are always discovering and sharing other companies’ stories whether for use in their own content or to raise their profile in the media.

However, sometimes we can be so busy that we neglect to tell our own stories. And as former journalists, we are not as comfortable in front of the microphone as we are behind it.

But, taking our own advice, we agreed to chat last week to the nice people at Fora.ie, the business website from the same company who runs the TheJournal.ie.

They wanted to feature StoryLab as the first company in their new weekly Startup Spotlight series and we were delighted to oblige.

We’ve had a great reaction to the piece – which was subsequently shared by TheJournal.ie and reached a large audience. As a result, StoryLab was also contacted to tell our story through other media outlets.

Another way to raise your profile and get your story out is to enter relevant competitions. So, we were delighted this month to have made the regional shortlist for the Bank of Ireland Startup Awards 2017.

A trip to Galway to meet the other nominated companies in the Connacht/Ulster region was a journey well-worth making and we wish everyone the best of luck at the national event.
