Content: Irish Independent
What they wanted.
Ireland’s best-selling daily newspaper wanted to create a magazine that would excite and enthuse schoolchildren about the 1916 Centenary and its dedicated Youth and Imagination Programme. In collaboration with the Ireland 2016 organisers, the Irish Independent asked StoryLab to engage its audience in print and online and energise schoolchildren into organising and taking part in their own 1916 projects.
What we did.
We delved into our 25-years plus of storytelling knowledge and creative content generation (ideas to you and me) to create a supplement that included great writing, stunning archive photography, case studies and other examples that really brought the world of Ireland in 1916 to life. We also provided the tools that allowed children to tell their Centenary stories in an engaging, connected way.
What they said.
“This is the best supplement produced by any newspaper, anywhere in recent years. StoryLab has done a great service. Every parent should buy a copy and give it to their children.”
– Ryan Tubridy, RTE broadcaster
