What they wanted.

The National Lottery was established 30 years ago with the express purpose of raising funds for Good Causes all over Ireland. In the last three decades, an incredible €5 billion has been raised for thousands of organisations, individuals, clubs and projects in the areas of health, sport, education, arts, heritage and culture from National Lottery sales. As part of its 30th Anniversary celebrations in 2018, the National Lottery wanted to remind the Irish people of the special contribution it is making to Irish life by sourcing and telling some of those life-changing Good Cause stories.

What we did.

Using good old-fashioned boots-on-the-ground journalism, we scour the Republic of Ireland to source compelling Good Causes stories, delivering each piece with beautiful photography and, for certain stories, eye-catching video. The amount of funding that an individual or project received from the National Lottery is irrelevant. Whether it is €2,000 or €200,000, the National Lottery wants to source stories that have impact.

What they said.

“We engaged StoryLab to source compelling Good Causes stories from each of the 26 counties of Ireland. We want heart-rending stories that reflected change in communities for use across national and local print and broadcast media, and on our on-line channels. The amount of funding that an individual or project received from the National Lottery is irrelevant. Through meticulous research the highly professional StoryLab team uncovers touching stories, which are beautifully written and delivered to deadline. So successful is the project and the pick-up on these stories in the media, we are repeating this exercise with StoryLab again.”
