PR: Digital Skillnet

What they wanted.

Digital Skillnet is the national training network for the software technology sector in Ireland. StoryLab has worked closely with Digital Skillnet since 2017 on a range of programmes and initiatives that have required quality content, results-driven PR – or both. In January 2020, Digital Skillnet wanted to publicise the launch of a major new programme called TechLEARN that articulated the benefits of the programme for tech workers and highlighted the role of various stakeholders. The programme revolved around the use of specialised e-learning platforms called O’Reilly and Pluralsight. An integrated programme of storytelling and PR was required.

What we did.

StoryLab worked with Digital Skillnet to create a dynamic PR campaign that supported these objectives. We also created a suite of quality written and visual content that told the stories of some of the workers and companies using the e-learning platforms. The key to the video storytelling piece was to ensure that the stories were told in relatable, understandable language. The launch at a venue in central Dublin was a success and included national media coverage in the tech and national business media.

What they said.

“I can state categorically, without StoryLab’s guidance, inspiration and creativity – both, in the preparation stage and during the launch, we would not have had anywhere near the success we had. All stakeholders, Digital Skillnet, Skillnet Ireland and Ibec were more than satisfied with the launch, and equally with the outcome, which resulted in quite a bit of new business.”
