Clubbing together for Sligo GAA
Sligo GAA has long been a main topic of general conversation at StoryLab HQ with many of us long-time supporters. We have even (almost) converted some of the Dubs on our team!
So, when Club Sligo asked us to work with them on creating content showcasing their work and the huge opportunities for the county’s young players through the Centre of Excellence, they didn’t have to ask twice.
Club Sligo’s role is to aid Sligo GAA by supporting the development of coaching and the provision of opportunities for younger players, helping them grow and develop from their early teens through to adulthood and the competitive environment.
We work with Club Sligo to devise, write and design quarterly newsletters sent out to Club Sligo members physically and electronically. Content from the newsletters is then repurposed in the following month for other mediums – such as match programmes and social media.
To say we enjoy this work is an understatement. Getting to interview those who are so invested in Sligo GAA and its development is a privilege.
So far, we have chatted to and featured Senior Football Manager Tony McEntee, Senior Hurling Manager Stephen Sheil, U-20s Football Manager Paul Henry as well as players Sean Carrabine, Canice Mulligan and Finnian Cawley.
But off the field, we are also profiling those behind the scenes, running development squads, focussing on Strength & Conditioning (S&C) or development admin, coaching officers and many more – all of whom keep Club Sligo and Sligo GAA ticking. We also shine a light on Club Sligo members, who donate monthly for the betterment of Sligo GAA.
