Robbie Brennan joins StoryLab
StoryLab has strengthened its team with the appointment of Robbie Brennan, an experienced former Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail journalist and writer.
The Dubliner has worked across various roles in print and online media for 15 years, including five years in the UK where he enjoyed stints at The Aberdeen Evening Express in Aberdeen, and The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph in London. He moved back to Ireland in 2017 to take up a sub-editing role with The Irish Daily Mail in Dublin.
The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 and a switch to remote work created the conditions for Robbie to fulfil his long-held ambition to live in Sligo, his wife’s home county. It is not a decision he regrets.
“You can never get bored of Sligo because it never looks the same way twice,” he says.
“I like good food, culture and the outdoors – whether that’s sea swimming, hiking or running – and Sligo has all that in abundance. My wife and I had a baby girl during the pandemic and it’s nice that we’re bringing her up somewhere with this much to offer.”
Robbie joined the company earlier this year and says he already feels very much at home.
“We’ve worked on great projects over the last couple of months, like the launch of the Atlantic Technological University. There was a momentous feel to that and I’m looking forward to doing similar work during what I expect will be many happy years at StoryLab,” he adds.
