Sligo Park Hotel checks into a busy summer

When reopening dates were announced for the hospitality industry, The Sligo Park Hotel turned to trusted Tourism PR experts at StoryLab to deliver a campaign that would showcase the hotel as the perfect location for a summer staycation.

StoryLab works with the Sligo Park Hotel on its PR and social media, promoting the four-star hotel as a top location for family breaks, conferences, weddings and weekends away.

As nationwide restrictions eased, allowing hotels to reopen in June after a long winter in lockdown, people were keen to get out and explore and reunite and reconnect with family and friends.

We designed a highly-impactful, integrated media campaign that would showcase why the Sligo Park Hotel is an ideal location for a Wild Atlantic Way break filled with adventure, quality time, and the reconnections that people craved after spending so much time apart.

The Make Up For Lost Time campaign focused on Sligo Park Hotel’s commitment to helping people create new memories and make up for lost time this summer. Our graphic designer created a series of branded images that highlighted the key messages of the campaign and showcased the kind of experiences visitors could look forward to.

Planning ahead was key to achieving a successful campaign and, two months ahead of reopening, we delivered a pitch targeted to travel writers and journalists, highlighting the campaign’s key messages. Simultaneously, the graphics were rolled out on social media, to build momentum and give audiences something to look forward to in the summer.

Since launching the Make Up For Lost Time campaign, we have secured quality media coverage with broadcast interviews and features in national news publications and travel outlets including The Sunday Times, ITTN Ireland, TravelTimes.ie.

Gerard Moore was interviewed on Dublin City Radio’s Talk Travel show by presenter, Lar Flynn, ahead of reopening and again in June.

Sligo Park Hotel’s Marketing Manager, Edel McPartland was interviewed by Alex Gibson on Dublin City Radio’s marketing programme, The Persuaders.

The social media campaign has been a success and the Sligo Park Hotel is enjoying a busy summer welcoming guests back to Sligo and the Wild Atlantic Way.
