Trinity Students get into the swing of SwEng

StoryLab was delighted to work with Trinity on such an innovative initiative.

The School of Computer Science & Statistics (SCSS) at Trinity College Dublin has developed and nurtured an excellent and innovative initiative which allows their students to enhance their third-level learning with best industry practice.

The SwEng Industry Programme  — which also incorporates the SwEng Industry Projects — is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to bridge the gap between industry and third level and StoryLab was delighted to be asked to help raise awareness of both the programme and the projects.

The SwEng Industry Programme aims to foster a deep and continuous relationship between its undergraduate students and industry by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice; producing industry-ready engineers of the future who can seamlessly transition from university to the workplace.

As part of the programme, future engineers and companies work together on real-life industry projects. These Software Engineering (SwEng) Projects are proposed by participating companies in response to real-life industry needs and all have a significant software development aspect to them.

StoryLab was engaged to write stories and create a video to explain the benefits of both the programme and the projects to the students themselves as well as the School’s industry partners.

It was fascinating for the StoryLab team to meet those involved – from students and lecturers to industry partners – and hear how the SwEng programme is benefitting them.
